Edited by Jacopo Bucciantini

“Lirismo Indifeso — Reflected Perceptions of Franco Onali” traces over fifty years of Franco Onali’s painterly career, emphasizing his figurative works, which range from post-Cubism and Symbolism to the Roman School. Remote from the art market system and any stylistic allegiance, Onali forged a deeply free path in which painting becomes a tool for self-knowledge and introspection. The works on display invite visitors into a contemplative experience, where images, forms, and colors abandon any narrative or ideological function to reveal that “defenseless lyricism” recognized by critic Dario Micacchi as the most authentic hallmark of his poetics.
